To continue the growth and developing we advertise for quality engineers to join our team in Shanghai. The team consists of Danish management and Chinese employees who are very dedicated and motivated. The team is responsible for quality control, follow-up on deliveries, supplier partnerships and a number of administrative tasks for the Danish office.

Position Summary
As a Quality Technician your main focus will be to support Product- and Sales Department in Denmark and
Sourcing team in Shanghai by ensuring the right construction, material, surface treatment and package to both new items (product development) and “running” items.
In addition to the above you will have a large role and responsibility to improve product quality, develop suppliers capabilities and monitor/document supplier corrective actions and overall deploy the best quality practices.

Examples of duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out supplier evaluation/audit based on the company sourcing & quality requirements.
  • Effectively manage New Product Development projects/products from start to end. Good communication with TPDK coordinator team and suppliers to meet market/customer expectation.
  • Work closely with suppliers on product risk analysis and implement effective corrective/improvement plan.
  • Review and complete quality documents such as sample report, CAP report, sign/control ‘reference sample’, implement 0-production.
  • Follow up closely with suppliers to handle quality complaint (identify root causes & corrective actions).
  • Maintain direct & efficient supervision of supplier quality/performance management, evaluate supplier overall quality performance, and drive for supplier continuous improvement.
  • Provide objective & measurable evaluation for suppliers wherever needed for sourcing or purchasing strategy.
  • Executing quality control of samples and mass production at our key suppliers in primarily China.
  • Supporting and educating Chinese quality controllers in the company as a sparring partner and with knowledge under here develop skills and tools for quality control.
  • Solve urgent tasks associated with deliveries and claims.
  • Being responsible for different furniture segments and ensuring a good process of internal quality control through positively liaising with Supplier.
  • Being an hands-on coordinator of ad hoc projects

Skills and Abilities

We expect you to

  • have a high level of honesty & integrity.

  • demonstrate strong quality abilities in driving for suppliers continuous improvement preferred.
  • have technical flair and hands-on attitude and familiarity with assembly instructions and technical drawings.
  • have a positive open mind towards different cultures and etiquettes.
  • be able to multi-task in a high paced environment and ability to complete projects according to deadlines.
  • have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Inventor/Solidworks/CAD is a plus.
  • work independently as well as being a team player in your problem solving.
  • be flexible on the job and thrive as every day has new and interesting challenges and to be flexible for traveling. You will reside in Shanghai.
  • have a robust mind and a good sense of humor.
  • show good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Chinese is a plus.

Knowledge, Experience, and Education

  • 3+ years of experience as Furniture maker, Cabinet maker, Joinery, Supplier Quality Engineer or
    Manufacturing Process Engineer with a Quality emphasis.
  • Knowledge within furniture and various types of materials (e.g. wood, metal, plastic and glass) would be preferred.
  • Education: Carpenter, Cabinetmaking, Joiner, B.S. in Engineering, B.S. in Industrial Technology or similar education.
  • Experience with Far-Eastern production and culture would be preferred.
